Waking Up

It’s been three years since I’ve updated this site.

The pandemic left me stateless and homeless for that time. It was hard. And the Japanese Government didn’t make that easy for me. So, without being on the ground and feeling betrayed by my adopted country, I couldn’t bring myself to write anything. Being homeless didn’t help either lol.

Anyhoo, I’m back in the game. I just ask for encouragement. I’m not asking for money or for you to join Patreon or anything like that. I’m just asking for encouragement. If you enjoy my site and if it means something, just give a little comment down below to get me to snap out of it and get back to what I loved doing for so many years.

I’m just in a place where I want to know if what I’ve created in my little corner of the internet still matters.

I just want people to say they want more JapanThis, and that will motivate me.

You’re not alone in struggling with being shut out of the place we’ve all invested so much energy in (and make a living writing about)—I’ve missed your take on things and hope that together we can all recapture the affection for Japan and sense of discovery that made us come here in the first place. Glad to hear you’re getting back on your feet!
